Dear Sarah,
Is it possible to cut and paste selected information from someone else's Web page? I don't see those buttons on my Netscape Navigator.

    –Vivi

Dear Vivi,

Yes. First make a document page to put the copy into. Use whatever program you normally use for word-processing, e.g., Microsoft Word. Then simply highlight what you want to copy from the Web site you're visiting, and paste it in. Use commands such as CTRL-C and CTRL-V to copy and paste the information from the Web into the document page.

Warning from a friend: be apprised that copyright law does apply to information on the Web. Warning from me: be apprised that whatever you copy and paste will have an appalling format, and you'll likely have to make laborious changes in order for the material to be presentable. In a perfect world, an application will eventually evolve that allows us to copy and paste Web pages with the formatting intact. Until then, you may have to spend some time deleting unnecessary formatting, including narrow margins of white space.
